ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jan, 2019 ) :Senator Rubina Khalid on Thursday said that the Transgender Person Protection Bill would safe the rights of transgender and protect their fundamental rights.

Talking to APP, she said that under the new bill the transgenders would be provided the facility of national identification card , passports, driving licenses and educational certificates.

She said that the total number of transgenders was 10418 in the country out of which 2767 were living in urban area while 7651 in rural areas.

She said that a total 913 transgenders were living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa among which 223 were living in rural areas of the province while 690 in Urban areas.

The total number of transgenders were 27 in FATA while 2527 in Punjab out of which 2124 were in rural areas while 4585 were settled in urban area.

A total of 2527 transgender were living in Sindh out of which 301 in rural areas while 2226 in urban areas.

She said that the Federal Capital has the 133 transgenders out of which 52 were living in rural areas while 81 in Urban localities.

She praised the Federal Minister for Human rights on her endeavours for transgender fraternity.
