WAPDA Health Care System To Be Further Improved: Chairman WAPDA

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Nov, 2016 ) : The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (R) Wednesday visited WAPDA Teaching Hospital Complex and witnessed the health care facilities being provided to the employees and their families.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said that WAPDA has a good health care system all over the country, said a press release. Keeping in view significance of the medical facilities for welfare of the employees, the incumbent WAPDA management has decided to bring improvement in its existing health care system, so that the WAPDA and power sector employees could benefit from the better facilities.
He directed the authorities concerned to plan up-gradation of Cardiac Department of WAPDA Teaching Hospital Complex Lahore to an institute for quality health care.
He also appreciated state-of-the-art Burn Unit of the said hospital.
During his visit to the hospital, the Chairman had a detailed round of the various departments including emergency and trauma centre, blood bank and pathological laboratory, pharmacy, intensive care unit, burn unit and out-door patient, eye, dental and physiotherapy departments etc.
He inquired after the health of patients admitted there. The Chairman also had interaction with the doctors on duty to have first hand knowledge about the services and related issues. It is pertinent to mention that the existing health care system of WAPDA comprises a 250-bed WAPDA Teaching Hospital, nine 50-bed hospitals, two 20-bed hospitals, 13 fortified dispensaries and 16 basic dispensaries across the country to serve the employees of WAPDA and power sector companies.
