Wasa Taking Steps To Esnure Provision Of Clean Water

Provision of clean drinking water to citizens is top priority of the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa)

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Dec, 2017 ) :Provision of clean drinking water to citizens is top priority of the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa). A spokesman said here Saturday that chlorine was being mixed in drinking water at the chlorinators, installed at all tube-wells.

He said Wasa Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz has directed the staff to carry out flushing and chlorination of water lines on emergency basis. And if any complaint is received from any area, chlorine quantity should be increased there and cleaning process should be continued till clearance of water sample.

The MD also directed Wasa chemist to speed up the water sample collection from all parts of the provincial capital and due action should be taken if collected samples were not clear, spokesman added.

A weekly meeting would be held with the directors of all towns regarding provision of clean water and directors would submit water quality report in the meeting. The report will give details about the received complaints and remedy provided in this regard.

The spokesman said that surprise checking of tube-wells would be conducted and if chlorinator on any tube-well would be found out of order, action would be taken against the relevant staff.
