Work On Skardu-Gilgit Road To Complete In Two Years: Commissioner

Commissioner Baltistan, Hamza Salik here Tuesday said work on the most important Gilgit-Sardu road was in full swing that would be completed during next two years, which will expedite pace of economic development in the province.
SKARDU, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2018 ) :Commissioner Baltistan, Hamza Salik here Tuesday said work on the most important Gilgit-Sardu road was in full swing that would be completed during next two years, which will expedite pace of economic development in the province.
The Commissioner told local journalists here that it was the long standing demand of people of Baltistan that was being fulfilled today by the government. Upon completion, he said, the distance between Gilgit and Skardu districts will be significantly reduced and industries will grow.
The Commissioner said the members of Lands Reforms Commission would soon visit Baltistan to meet stakeholders of barren lands and would listen their view-point before deciding about future of such lands.
Senior Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Haji Akbar Taban would be member of the Commission to represent people of Baltistan, he said. After thorough discussions with relevant stakeholders and people of GB and ground realities, he said the Commission would give its verdict for allotment of the barren lands.
