Workers To Be Entitled To Post-retirement Benefits, Says Minister

Punjab minister for labour and human resource Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi said here Wednesday that workers would enjoy post retirement benefits on the basis of their social security registration
He said this while addressing a draw ceremony here for allotment of 992 flats to as many workers.
He said that efforts were being made to bring Workers Welfare Fund under the provincial network.
He disclosed that Punjab Labour Policy has been prepared under which home-based workers would get the right to form union and added that coordination committees were also being set up at each district to resolve problems of employers and workers.
He said that Punjab Industrial Relations Act was being improved adding that retired workers would be entitled to benefits on the basis of their social security registration.
He said that workers wages would be increased from Rs 15000 to Rs 16500 per month.
Minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan gave three cancer hospitals and a Numl university to the nation. He said that the 100-day agenda of PTI government would be a golden part of history and its benefits were becoming visible gradually.
He said that his sole agenda was to give identity to workers and promised that labour department would not only support workers but also their families.
He said that PTI government has many good news in store for the workers community. He said that ministry of labour and human resource was working on fourteen (14) different incentives for workers. He added that the ministry would also contribute to efforts to build five million homes for the poor as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said that country was passing through testing times and hailed industrialists and employers for their important role in the economy. They are our brothers and would remain to be so in future, he added.
He said that overall 1400 flats have been built in Punjab including 992 in Multan and added that draw for allotment of flats was being held simultaneously in three cities in the province today.
He announced that labour hospitals would be built in Rahimyar Khan and Sargodha.
He said that government would soon issue cards to workers and promised to start double shifts at labour schools to benefit more sons and daughters of workers.
He said that data of unemployed youth was also being compiled by the department. Director General Labour Punjab Faisal Nisar Chaudhry, director labour Multan Jamshed Farooq also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, minister also met with the staff of the labour school and promised to solve their problems.
