GROS-ISLET, Saint Lucia, , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2017 ) - Afghanistan captain Asghar Stanikzai won the toss and again chose to bat first against the West Indies in the second fixture of a three-match One-Day International series in St Lucia on Sunday.
Fresh from a sensational 63-run win in the first match at the same Darren Sammy Stadium on Friday, the visitors have retained an unchanged 11 in pursuit of the win that will give them an historic first ODI series triumph against a Full Member nation of the International cricket Council.
West Indies have been forced into one change with seam bowling all-rounder Rovman Powell replacing the injured Miguel Cummins from the team that capitulated to the bowling of Rashid Khan in the first match -- the leg-spinner's haul of seven for 18 being the fourth best-ever bowling figures in the 46-year-history of ODI's.
Despite that success, the hosts have opted once more to go into the match without their specialist leg-spinner, Devendra Bishoo. Teams: West Indies - Jason Holder (captain), Evin Lewis, Kieran Powell, Shai Hope (wicketkeeper), Jason Mohammed, Roston Chase, Jonathan Carter, Rovman Powell, Ashley Nurse, Alzarri Joseph, Shannon Gabriel.
Afghanistan - Asghar Stanikzai (captain), Noor Ali Zadran, Javed Ahmadi, Rahmat Shah, Samiullah Shenwari, Mohammad Nabi, Afsar Zazai (wicketkeeper), Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Amir Hamza, Dawlat Zadran. Umpires: Nigel Duguid (GUY), Chettithody Shamshuddin (IND) Match Referee: Jeff Crowe (NZL)
