Olympics: Michelle Carter Stuns Adams To Claim Shot Put Gold

RIO DE JANEIRO,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Augst,2016) - Michelle Carter of the United States stunned defending champion Valerie Adams with her very last throw to win the gold medal in the Olympic women's shot put final here Friday.
Carter, whose father Michael won a silver medal in the shot put in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, snatched victory with a heave of 20.63m on her sixth and final attempt. New Zealand star Adams, winner in 2008 and 2012, finished with silver after a best throw of 20.42. Hungary's Anita Marton won bronze with 19.87m.
