TUSDEC To Support Surgical Industry In Technology Upgradation

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2018 ) :Technology Upgradation & Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) CEO Alamgir Chaudhry has said the government has focused on development and upgradation of surgical instruments and cutlery sectors by enabling them to be modernised through advanced technology.

He said this while addressing a meeting of exporters held at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here Saturday. SCCI President Zahid Latif Malik presided over the meeting. He said the TUSDEC had successfully started implementation on a project "Industrial Technology Benchmarking" in order to address needs of the technology advancement for priority sectors, including surgical and cutlery in fields of electromedical, and mass scale production and continuous polishing of tableware for the cutlery sector.

He also gave a detailed briefing to exporters about the initiative of "Technology Benchmarking" in the highly value added sectors of surgical instruments and cutlery sectors of Sialkot. While addressing the meeting, President SCCI Zahid Latif Malik said: "I believe that this is a right step taken by the government to enhance the two most value added sectors of Pakistan.

The project would not only benefit the existing manufacturing setups in the two priority sectors but would also serve to achieve the long desired goal of export diversification and entering high value markets through technology benchmarking". He assured full support to the TUSDEC in execution of the project.
