Biden To Visit Canada March 23-24 For Talks On Defense Cooperation, Ukraine - White House

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 10th March, 2023) US President Joe Biden will visit Canada on March 23-24 to meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for talks on bilateral defense cooperation and support for Ukraine, among other topics, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre announced in a statement.

"President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will travel to Ottawa, Canada from March 23-24," Jean-Pierre said in the statement on Thursday.

Biden will discuss with Trudeau defense cooperation and modernizing the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) as well as strengthening supply chain resilience and taking action to combat climate change and accelerate the clean energy transition, the statement said.

The two leaders will also discuss support for Ukraine, increasing the costs on Russia and strengthening cooperation to deal with the synthetic opioid crisis, the statement also said.

"President Biden will also address the Canadian Parliament to highlight the importance of the United States-Canada bilateral relationship," Jean-Pierre added.
