More than 60 percent Chinese prefer reading on digital devices or via the Internet in 2018, according to a survey unveiled Tuesday
Some 38.4 percent of those surveyed said they prefer reading paper books, a 6.
7-percentage-point decrease year on year, according to the survey by the Chinese academy of Press and Publication.
Chinese adults on average read on an e-reader for 10.7 minutes per day in 2018, more than in 2017,.
On average, respondents used mobile phones for 84.87 minutes a day, and the Internet for 65.12 minutes a day.
The survey, conducted from August to December 2018, had a sample size of 19,683 people from 29 provincial-level regions.
