Moscow is drawing the UN Security Council's attention to the US destructive actions in southern Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) Moscow is drawing the UN Security Council's attention to the US destructive actions in southern Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday.
He said a security zone near At Tanf, which includes the Rukban refugee camp, has been created, adding that UN personnel are not allowed in the camp, and militants from the camp, including Nusra Front members [banned in Russia] sometimes attack Syrian areas liberated by Damascus.
"Of course, we are drawing the UN Security Council's attention to this situation, which is absolutely not in line with the tasks of implementing Resolution 2254. But taking into account the absolutely destructive position of the United States, it is difficult to expect that the Security Council will make some positive decisions on this issue at this stage," Lavrov told reporters.
