Dhaka (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th March, 2019) The Bangladesh cricketers who narrowly escaped the New Zealand attack said that it looked like a scene from movie.
Manager and former captain of Bangladesh cricket team Khaled Mashud Pilot described the experience the team through after the gunman started shooting at the Christchurch mosque.
Speaking to media, Khaled said that they would not have survived had they reached the mosque three minutes earlier.
He said that he and his fellow Bangladeshi cricketers were at a distance of 50 yards from the mosque.
This minimal distance became a reason of their rescue.
Khaled said that the attack looked like a scene from a movie.
Some of the Bangladeshi players had started crying, he said, adding that 17 members of the team remained head down in the bus for 8-10 minutes to avoid a bullet.
This was when they decided that the shooter could target them so they left the scene.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket board head Nazm ul Hassan said that there was no security official with the team when they left for mosque.
