Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan had responded positively to his invitation to attend the opening of a cathedral mosque in Crimea

SIMFEROPOL (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th March, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan had responded positively to his invitation to attend the opening of a cathedral mosque in Crimea.

"I have already invited Turkish President Erdogan.

He knows about this, and, as far as I understand, he reacted positively to this invitation. We'll see if he will actually have time and opportunity to come," Putin said at a meeting with public figures in Crimea.

The mosque is being built on the southern part of the city of Simferopol. The entire complex includes three buildings and auxiliary infrastructure.
