The Russian delegation plans to discuss at the consultations with the EU External Action Service (EEAS) the future of relations with the bloc, as well as issues related to the situation in the post-Soviet space, including in Ukraine, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said Thursday.
Brussels is currently hosting a meeting within the framework of regular consultations between Russia and the European Union devoted to issues related to the Commonwealth of Independent States. EEAS Secretary General Helga Schmid represents the EU side at the talks.
"First of all, we want to look into the future of our relations, we want to discuss the possibilities of the so-called concept of integration of integrations. We have the Eurasian Economic Union, and here there is the European Union and they must interact," Karasin told reporters.
According to Karasin, the sides also need to discuss some issues of the current agenda related to the situation in the post-Soviet space, including in South Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova and Central Asia.
