Russian-Egyptian Presidential Expanded Talks Canceled After Crimea College Blast - Source

Negotiations in an expanded format between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah Sisi were canceled after the tragedy in the Crimean city of Kerch, a source in the delegation told Sputnik on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th October, 2018) Negotiations in an expanded format between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah Sisi were canceled after the tragedy in the Crimean city of Kerch, a source in the delegation told Sputnik on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, a blast rocked a college in Kerch.

The Russian Investigative Committee classified the explosion as a terrorist attack and initiated criminal proceedings. According to Crimea Head Sergei Aksyonov, death toll from the attack has reached 18, while more than 40 people were injured.

"Yes, they were canceled. The dinner, which was planned earlier, is also in question," the source said.

Putin and Sisi met in a narrow format earlier in the day in the Russian resort city of Sochi to discuss regional agenda and bilateral cooperation.
