VLADIVOSTOK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd April, 2019) National flags of Russia and North Korea on Tuesday were flown at the campus of Vladivostok's Far Eastern Federal University, which is widely believed to become the venue of the first summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un later this week.

The Kremlin said earlier this week that preparations for the meeting between Putin and Kim were at the final stage and that the summit would take place before the end of April.

A Sputnik correspondent also spotted maintenance workers cleaning up red carpets, sweeping the sidewalk and trimming grass next to the university's sports building, which is rumored to be the main venue of the talks.

Students told Sputnik that some faculties had been warned by their teachers that classes would be canceled due to Kim's visit, although this information is yet to be officially announced by the university's administration.
