Russia's Udaloy-I class destroyer Severomorsk has made a port call in Djibouti, Russian Northern Fleet's spokesman, Capt. 1st Rank Vadim Serga said on Tuesday.
"Northern Fleet's Severomorsk destroyer, which is currently on a tour of duty in the Indian Ocean, has called at the port of Djibouti...," Serga said.
According to Serga, the Russian warship will replenish supplies of fuel, fresh water and food up to required standards. Upon the completion of the visit, Severomorsk will continue its mission in the Indian Ocean, the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, according to the plan.
The destroyer left its home base in Severomorsk in northern Russia on July 5. The warship is operating in the Indian Ocean since second half of September. It has already called at five ports and carried out a number of anti-piracy missions in the region.
