Russia's Airborne Forces To Include Tactical Aviation, Missile Defense Units In Future

Tactical aircraft, air defense and missile defense units will be included in the composition of the Russian Airborne Forces, Deputy Commander Lt. Gen. Alexander Vyaznikov, said Friday.

"The mobile component of the Russian Armed Forces is being further developed to neutralize possible threats to the country," Vyaznikov said at a meeting with foreign military attaches in Moscow.

"In the future, the ground component will be strengthened with formations that will have units of tactical aviation, air and missile defense in their composition. They will have integrated capability to repel the enemy," the general stressed.
