ANKARA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Augst,2016) : Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) has informed international agencies about the incidents on the night of July 15 and its aftermath. TIKA has sent a letter to 58 international agencies including UNESCO, UNICEF, and some European aid organizations. The letter, written by Head of TIKA, Serdar Cam, aimed to warn charities globally about the defeated July 15 coup attempt which was orchestrated by Fetullah Terror Organization (FETO) members. Accusing Western media of its irresponsible coverage following coup bid, Cam said, "In the past weeks, we were shocked by the irresponsible remarks and misleading information circulated by some mainstream media sources regarding the coup d'etat. The failed coup was portrayed by them as something like uprising and lamented for its failure".
He went to assert that, "As an aid agency, despite all these setbacks, TIKA will continue its aid efforts in developing the world and contribute to the promotion of peace and prosperity around the world." The information letter was sent to agencies on Aug 10. Turkey's government has said that the July 15 coup attempt, which left 240 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured, was organized by followers of Fetullah Gulen, who has lived in self-imposed exile in the US state of Pennsylvania since 1999, and his FETO network. Gulen is accused of leading a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary, forming what is commonly known as the parallel state.
