Two people have been killed and 17 went missing as a result of a landslide in China's northern Shanxi province, the country's Emergency Management Office said in a statement on Saturday
BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th March, 2019) Two people have been killed and 17 went missing as a result of a landslide in China's northern Shanxi province, the country's Emergency Management Office said in a statement on Saturday.
The landslide hit a village in Xiangning county on Friday and buried a part of a local hospital, a financial firm building and a small bath facility.
Thirteen people have been rescued, the authorities added.
The search and rescue operation on the site is underway. It involves five firefighter units, 46 vehicles, 247 firefighters, 12 rescue dogs, 26 experts specializing in rescue works in hard-to-get areas and medics.
