KAMPALA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) Uganda is negotiating the construction of nuclear power plant (NPP) with Russia, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni told Sputnik in an interview.
"We need a nuclear power plant. We have got power from [a hydroelectric power plant at] the Nile, but it is not much, we are about to exhaust the sites," Museveni said.
According to Museveni, the chances of Russian companies to secure a contract for the NPP construction were "very high."
"We are negotiating with them already," Museveni said.
