MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd February, 2019) The United States and NATO are working on the issue of handing over weapons to the opposition in Venezuela, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"There is information that US companies and their NATO allies are working on the issue of buying a large batch of weapons and ammunition in an Eastern European country for their subsequent transfer to Venezuelan opposition forces," she said during a briefing.

Zakharova said the United States was planning to transfer weapons to the Venezuelan opposition with the help of Ukraine's Antonov company in early March.
