Red lentil growers have been advised to complete its sowing by November 15.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Nov, 2018 ) :Red lentil growers have been advised to complete its sowing by November 15.

A spokesman for Agriculture department said on Wednesday that recommended varieties include Masoor 93, Nayyab Masoor 2002, Nayyab Masoor 2006, Punjab Masoor 2009, Chakwal Masoor and Markaz 2009.

Farmers must use one bag of Diammonium phosphate (DAP), one bag of Sulphate of Potash (SOP) or one bag of triple superphosphate with one and a half sack of Urea and one bag of SOP on per acre of land, he maintained.

The spokesman said that in rain fed-areas gram growers could continue sowing till mid of November and suggested use of quality seed for good yield.

He added that gram growers must sow 30 kg seed per acre,besides paying special attention to weed removal.
