Cotton Productions Increases Up To 20 Pc This Year

MULTAN, Dec 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Dec, 2016 ) : The production of cotton has increased from 16 to 20 per cent this year while its area has reduced up to 27 per cent. These views were expressed by Dr Habibur Rehman while speaking at a seminar entitled "Importance of Potassium in Cotton Growth" held under the auspices of Agronomy department of Bahauddin Zakariya University.

He added that holding such seminars would be a ladder for bright future of crop.

Dr Hakamut Ali said varsities and research organizations should sensitize farmers about use of latest technology.

He informed that the farmers should not hesitate in using this technology as it would be beneficial for them. He said potassium and phosphorus have much importance after Nitrogen for plants. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nazim Labar said Potassium worked as traffic constable which managed the flow other other nutrition constituents. Dr Abdul Wakil and Dr Ahmad Naeem also spoke.
