KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jan, 2018 ) :Pakistan and Iran enjoying good relations but their bilateral trade is far below the actual potential, observed Senior Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FPCCI), Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir.
He was talking to a delegation of Iranian entrepreneurs of West Azerbaijan Province of Iran led by Behnam Tajaddini, of the Urmia Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Agriculture and Mines, here at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said FPCCI statement on Friday.
Nezaratizadeh, Economic Counselor of Iran in Karachi was also present. The meeting was also attended by FPCCI Vice President Ms.Syeda Saeeda Bano, former vice president FPCCI, Shakeel Dhingra, Chairman, All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association Aslam Pakhali.
FPCCI SVP Mazhar Ali Nasir also emphasized on frequent exchange of trade delegations and holding of single country exhibitions on reciprocal basis to enhance people-to-people contacts. Both the business communities be given opportunities to explore market for their potential products especially agricultural products and fresh fruits.
He suggested for establishing a joint working committee of both countries to resolve and sort out the trade issues. Behnam Tajaddini stated that West Azerbaijan is the third largest province of Iran with one of the highest yields of agricultural products.
The province annually produced six million tons of fruits and vegetables. There were cold storage facilities for a total capacity of one million tons that would benefit the Pakistani fruit and vegetables exporters to re-export their shipments.
