More than 150 Russian companies and representatives of 40 country's regions will take part in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2018, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said on Friday.
"I note with pleasure that the opportunity to participate in the EXPO triggered considerable interest from representatives of the Russian regions and the business community: from state corporations to small and medium businesses. Our participation will be very massive: we are speaking about some 150 Russian companies and 40 regions, which will present their projects at the area of about 2,500 square meters [around 27,000 square feet]," Manturov said.
The Russian delegation will include up to 400 people. According to the industry and trade minister, about half of the exhibition space will be reserved for producers of agricultural products, who have showed significant interest in participating in the CIIE.
"At the CIIE Russia will present a national image display, demonstrating the country's trade and economic potential, projects jointly implemented with China as well as the displays of Russian exporters in five thematic pavilions: food and agricultural products, medical equipment and health products, consumer goods, high-tech equipment and services," Manturov said.
The minister noted that the Russian corporations Rosatom, Gazprom, RZD Logistics and Aeroflot would present their projects on the sidelines of the CIIE.
"We will present our biggest and most promising projects. These are primarily the projects in the spheres of nuclear energy, oil and gas, transport and logistics of Rosatom, Yamal LNG, RZD Logistics, Aeroflot and Vorsino Freight Village. The Zabaikalsky Territory, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Buryatia, the Republic of Tatarstan as well as Sverdlovsk, Tambov, Tyumen regions and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and others will demonstrate their industrial, investment and tourist potential," Manturov said.
He noted that the CIIE would also focus on development of the cross-border cooperation, particularly, on the Zabaikalsk-Manchuria border trade complex that will be created in the Zabaikalsky Territory.
"And of course we could not ignore the traditionally high interest of Chinese citizens in the Russian culture. In order to boost the positive image of the Russian Federation in the international market and to increase the interest of CIIE participants and guests in Russia as a partner state, a cultural program will be presented on November 5-7 at our national display," Manturov added.
The CIIE 2018 will be held on November 5-10 in the Chinese city of Shanghai. More than 2,800 companies from 130 countries will take part in the exhibition.
