Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -24th Augst,2016) : Five ships C.V Maersk Columbus, C.V Ak- Khor, M.T Liberty-N, M.T CT Dublin and M.T Karachi carrying containers, LPG palm oil and furnace oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday. Meanwhile five more ships C.V Al-Khor, C.V Maersk Columbus, M.T Dubai Eastern, M.V Golden Trader-1 and M.T Al-Salam-II carrying containers, soya bean seeds, palm oil and diesel oil arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at forty percent on Tuesday where a total of six berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Maersk Columbus, C.V Ak-Khor, M.V Katerina, M.T Liberty-N, M.T CT Dublin and M.

T Karachi to load/offload containers, soya bean seeds, LPG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. A cargo volume of 115,886 tonnes, comprising 91,157 tonnes import cargo and 24, 529 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,078 containers (TEUs)(1,787 imports TUEs & 1,291 TUEs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours. Container vessel Maersk Columbus sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while LPG carrier Liberty-N is expected to sail on same day afternoon. Two ships C.V Maersk Salina and M.T Tomson Gas carrying containers and LPG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while container vessel Mataquito is due to arrive at port on Thursday, and Atacama and Uni Florida are due to arrive on Friday.
