The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to start classes in Govt Polytechnic Institute Shalman, Tehsil Landikotal of District Khyber on emergency basis

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jan, 2019 ) :The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to start classes in Govt Polytechnic Institute Shalman, Tehsil Landikotal of District Khyber on emergency basis.

The educational institute was established two decades before and was still not functional. The imitative was a part of steps towards mainstreaming tribal areas merged in KP.

In this connection the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister's Special Assistant on Science and Technology, Kamran Bangash Friday paid a visit of the closed technical college at Shalman, Tehsil Landikotal in merged district Khyber and examined the infrastructure condition of same institution for launching educational activities.

On this occasion the Special Assistant said that the institution would be started very soon adding that it will be used for multiple proposes and programs of IT and Computer would also be taught here to equip the local youth about the emerging technologies.

He said the college would be converted in a technology University for technological education facilities of Khyber District while all facilities including solar and generator would be provided in the college.

He remarked that tribal people were patriotic and peaceful but unfortunately they had been negatively portrayed.

Mr Kamran said that the marginalized society of erstwhile FATA needed development that was why the government trying to materialize the mainstreaming process of these backward areas as soon as possible.

He further said the government was committed to provide equal opportunities to tribal areas like rest parts of our province. He thanked the tribal elders for their warmhospitality.

During the day long visit, Director Science and Technology Dr.Khalid Khan, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Landi Kotal Muhammad Imran and relevant officers also accompanied the minister.
