200765 Children Will Be Vaccinated Against Measles In Bajaur District

The Health Department with the collaboration of the local administration has launched a massive anti- measles campaign in Bajaur tribal district on Monday A total of 200,765 children of age between nine months and 59 months will be vaccinated against the lethal disease in the 12 days drive.
BAJAUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :The Health Department with the collaboration of the local administration has launched a massive anti- measles campaign in Bajaur tribal district on Monday A total of 200,765 children of age between nine months and 59 months will be vaccinated against the lethal disease in the 12 days drive.
The campaign was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Mehmood Ahmed Khan at a ceremony held for the purpose here in Khar. The ceremony was attended by tribal elders, political and religious leaders and officials of the administration and Health Department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the campaign was meant to get rid the district from measles diseases as measles was one of the fatal infections in the region.
He asked the participants to play their due role to make the campaign successful and effective across the region.
He called upon the participants to not only support the health teams in conducting drive, but also aware the people about the importance of anti- measles campaign. He asked for joint efforts vital to make the campaign fruitful in the district, saying it would be unfortunate for those children who could deprive from the drive as vaccination was the lone solution to keep the children safe from measles disease.
The health officials on the occasion briefed the participants about the campaign.
