KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Sep, 2017 ) : Commissioner Karachi, Ejaz Ahmed Khan has urged the officials involved in ongoing polio vaccination campaign to ensure strict monitoring of concerned kids in the metropolis.
Chairing a meeting, he said that children found not available at their respective residence or registered to be suffering from diarrhea, hence making repeated administration of oral vaccine important, are necessarily followed up, even after conclusion of the current door to door exercise.
Personally supervising the six day campaign, he said that as a policy no refusals should be acceptable to the teams involved in the campaign and that monitoring of the exercise must be turned fool proof.
Karachi Commissioner directed the districts' administration to extend absolute support to the EOC-Polio officials.
He has urged the concerned deputy commissioners to facilitate teams of vaccinators gain easy accessibility to the 2.2 million Karachi based under five children.
Meanwhile the polio vaccination campaign that commenced in Karachi, alongwith other parts of the country on Saturday was formally inaugurated at Sobhraj Maternity Hospital Sunday morning. Alongwith teams of vaccinators visiting different parts of Karachi fixed vaccination centers have also been activated in different maternity homes, children hospitals, basic health units and relevant healthcare facilities.
