Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Placate Families Refusing Anti-measles Vaccine To Children

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh Saturday visited Shaheen Muslim Town and helped teams of heath department to placate families who refused to vaccinate their children in ongoing anti-measles campaign.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Oct, 2018 ) :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh Saturday visited Shaheen Muslim Town and helped teams of heath department to placate families who refused to vaccinate their children in ongoing anti-measles campaign.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shahid Ali Khan, Additional Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Naseer Khan, Nazim and councilors of the area.
The DC also met with area elders and informed them about the hazardous effects of measles, urging them to support efforts of government in eradicating the disease.
Talking to media, he said that 639537 children of 9 to 59 months would be vaccinated in the ongoing anti-measles campaign that would be continued till October 26. The DC said that 549 teams had been constituted to achieve the targets set for the campaign.
