Say they will not call off protest until the government addresses their demand regarding pay scale, increase in salary
LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 19th March, 2019) The protest demonstration of lady health workers continued in front of Punjab Assembly as they refused to call off the agitation until their demands were addressed.
Around 1,000 workers are demanding raise in salary, revival in service structure and lift of the ban on fresh appointments.
The protestors demand 14 pay-scale for lady health supervisors, 7 for health workers and 4 for drivers. They say that they are working day and night but are not given proper rewards.
They claimed that directors of the health programs receive the salary in millions.
The protesting ladies sit-in on Tuesday entered into the second day as they reached Lahore on Monday from different cities of the province. This is not the first time that they lodged a protest in favor of their demands. They said that the government had promised to fulfill the demands of workers in 2012 but still they did not receive any compensation.
