58-member Italian Trade Delegation To Visit From Nov 5

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Nov, 2016 ) : Deputy Trade Commissioner of Italy A R Daudpota called on MCCI President Khawaja Jalaluddin Romi and exchanged views on bilateral trade between Pakistan and Italy.
Daudpota said a 58-member Italian trade delegation would visit Pakistan from November 5 (tomorrow). The delegation will consist of representatives from all sectors of economy in addition to heads of different associations.
Daudpota said another high-powered Italian delegation would visit Pakistan on December 7 under the leadership of a state minister and representatives of 80 Italian companies from textile,leather,footwear,infrastructure,information technology, renewable energy, agriculture and automotive sectors would comprise of the delegation.
Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) president Khawaja Jalaluddin Romi suggested that the delegation should also visit South Punjab to explore opportunities for trade and investment.
Italy's main industries are tourism, machinery, iron & steel, chemicals, food processing, textiles, motor vehicles, clothing, footwear and ceramics.
He said joint ventures between private sectors of the two countries could help enhance mutual trade volume. He said a balance of trade favored Pakistan and it was encouraging to see that volume of bilateral trade was being maintained over one billion Dollar.
Pakistani businessmen wished to maintain this favourable trend and also enhance the volume of two way trade with the help and cooperation of individuals, he added. He said it was really good to see that Italian investors and businessmen were taking interest in fashion and marble sectors of Pakistan in particular.
He said the MCCI wanted to develop a close liaison with the Italian Trade Commission Office in Pakistan in order to exchange important information related to trade queries.
