AJK SC Unhappy Over Non-restoration Of Education Package

MUZAFFARABAD, Sept 19 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2017 ) : Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Supreme Court while expressing anguish over noncompliance of its orders regarding restoration of an education package given by the former government has ordered Secretary Education Colleges to make functional all those colleges where students were enrolled and report the same to court on October 3.
Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice Ibrahim Zia issued these directives while hearing a contempt petition filled by Pakistan Peoples Party leaders Ch. Latif, Mian Waheed and others seeking contempt proceedings against the government for noncompliance of apex courts orders.
The former Pakistan Peoples Party government in AJK had upgraded dozen of schools and colleges creating hundreds of new posts of teachers and other staff under an education package which was withdrawn by the present government soon after it came into power.
Pakistan peoples party then took the matter in High Court which partially restored the package and then the issue traveled to Supreme Court which ordered the government to maintain the status of institutions already upgraded and students were enrolled and take a judicious decision about rest of the institution under the package on need basis.
During the proceedings of the court, staff from the up-graded schools and colleges was taken back and student enrolled were directed to go other institutions having the status of colleges. The orders of the apex court were still pending to be implemented on which former Minister Ch.
Latif Akbar and Mian Waheed moved the court through a contempt petition. The Chief Justice while taking up the petition, sought a report from the Secretary Education (Colleges) by October 3, date for next hearing, about implementations of the apex court's earlier order and record of the institutions.
