
All Set For Electioneering In By Polls In PP-7

WAH CANTT,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Augst,2016) : All set for by election in PP-7 (Taxila- Chakri) Rawalpindi-IV where polling scheduled to held on September 26, which falls vacant after the demise of PTI elect MPA Mohammad Sadeeq Khan. The constituency comprising semi-hilly and plain areas of Taxila, Chakri, Sahil and Adiala has its own geo-political significance, while on the other hand there are Chakri and Sahil having rural and clan-dominated area of Potohar where clan and group affiliations overshadow political parties.
With its main rural population, the main clans of Gujjar, Khattar, Awan, Kashmiri and Saadat dominate the area. The constituency has 167,574 registered voters 88,226 males and 79,348 females, while the total population of tehsil Taxila is 471,612 whereas.
As many as 157 polling stations would be set up in the constituency.
Of the three main candidates, PTI nominated candidate Ammar Sidique is son of Sidique Khan- is new in politics arena as he join politics after the sudden death of his father.
Haji Umar Farooq of PML-N of the famous Kohistan group remain MPA from Wah Cantt PP-8. The third candidate contesting from PPP platform is former provincial parliamentary secretary for revenue Chaudhry Kamran Aslam. According to critics, whatever the results, the elections would be a real test for both the political parties to check their popularity among the citizens and it would be a yardstick for the both mainstream political parties like referendum to check their popularity graph and it would also play a major role for the two parties to set their priorities for the next general elections.
