Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 30th July, 2018) Deserted PTI leader Ayesha Gulalai, who contested from four National Assembly Constituencies and lost from all of them.
Gulalai secured only a meagre number of votes but what’s interesting here is that the only vote cast to Ayesha Gulalai at a polling station in Nowshera (NA-25) was not a vote but a love note.
According to reports, a polling station set up at the Government Primary school No. 2 in Risalpur recorded just one vote polled by a voter, but it was rejected because the voter had written ‘I love you’ for Gulalai rather than simply stamping on the ballot paper.
Once the ballot reached the returning officer, it was rejected due to violation of the voting rule, the report added.
Ayesha Gulalai contested from four National Assembly constituencies, including NA-53, NA-161, NA-231 and NA-25 against PTI candidate Pervez Khattak. From all four constituencies, she could only get 3,538 votes in total.
