Azad Jammu And Kashmir , Power Division Experts To Meet On March 5 For Sorting Electricity Matters

The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Power Division have agreed to convene expert level meeting on Monday, March 5 to address electricity related matters.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2018 ) :The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Power Division have agreed to convene expert level meeting on Monday, March 5 to address electricity related matters.
The AJK side will be led by Secretary Energy while the Power Division will be led by concerned Additional Secretary assisted by officials of Power Finance, PPIB and other allied organizations, said a press release.
The decision was made in a meeting between Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari and Prime Minister AJK, Raja Farooq Haider Khan here Wednesday. During the meeting the Federal Minister for Power Division apprised the Prime Minister AJK on various step being taken by the Power Division for improvement of system and service delivery for the electricity consumers.
He also briefed the Prime Minister on the various initiatives that are being planned by the Power Division for the benefit of consumers which includes net metering, mobile meter reading, implementation of correct billing mechanism and other facilities.
The Federal Minister also sought assistance of the AJK government against the Power theft. On a number of matters pertaining to the electricity both the Federal Minister and the Prime Minister of AJK had common views.
They agreed to entrust the matters to the expert level committee comprised of the officials from both sides to reach to conclusion for mutual benefit. The Prime Minister of AJK appreciated the effort of the Power Division under the leadership of Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari for introducing consumer friendly policies in the power sector.
He assured to extend maximum assistance to the Power Division on matters relating to electricity.
