Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) senior vice president Ch Talat Mahmood said on Wednesday the local business community was fully contributing its key role in the materialization of Prime Minister's vision of "Clean & Green Pakistan" In a meeting with Deputy Director Environment Protection, Waseem Ahsan Cheema, he said the FCCI was continuously concentrating on creating awareness among the society with a special focus on the industry

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2021 ) :Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) senior vice president Ch Talat Mahmood said on Wednesday the local business community was fully contributing its key role in the materialization of Prime Minister's vision of "Clean & Green Pakistan" In a meeting with Deputy Director Environment Protection, Waseem Ahsan Cheema, he said the FCCI was continuously concentrating on creating awareness among the society with a special focus on the industry.

He said that regular messages were emailed to FCCI members so that they could remain in touch with the latest developments in the environment. He said that yet another meeting would also be arranged to create much needed awareness among the FCCI members and officials of the environment protection department would also be invited to participate in it.

He proposed that environment monitoring devices may be installed around all congested industrial and commercial concerns particularly situated in the urban area so that immediate remedial measures could be taken to contain the pollution.

He said that environmental pollution was a general problem but erroneously, it had been dubbed with the industry only which was not correct.

He said that automobiles were also one of the major causes of environment and noise pollution which should be checked with an iron hand.

He also stresses the need for continuous efforts to contain the pollution through extensive tree plantation and other approved measures.

Earlier, Deputy Director environment protection Waseem Ahsan Cheema explained in detail the increasing pollution and said that society as a whole should play its role to make the environment a livable place for the coming generations.

He lamented that some scattered industrial units in the urban areas were using hazardous fuel which was dangerous for human life. He said the chamber must play its proactive role to check this trend.

He also assured to resolve the issues relating to the early issuance of environment related NOCs for the new industrial units.
