Requests ECP to take action
Chakwal (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th September, 2018) The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chakwal, Ghulam Saghir Shahid, has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Zulfiqar Ali Khan of political interference.
In his letter to the Punjab chief secretary, Ghulam Saghir Shahid has alleged that MNA Zulfiqar Ali has pressurized him to transfer/post 17 officials of the Revenue Department.
The DC asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Punjab chief secretary to take action against the PTI MNA.
The DC stated that he received a sealed envelope from the MNA on August 31, in which he asked him to transfer/post 17 officials of the Revenue Department. The list was duly signed by the MNA.
The next day, at 4pm, the MNA visited his office and insisted him for posting/transfer of Revenue field staff.
The DC wrote that on Monday, he received a call from Zulfiqar Khan asking him to cancel the transfer order of Patwari Muhammad Aslam who was transferred to Choa Saiden Shah from Kallar Kahar.
According to DC, he had transferred five Patwaris to Choa Saiden Shah from Tehsil Chakwal and Kallar Kahar on the request of Choa Saiden Shah assistant commissioner in the best interest of public.
The DC said that the MNA again called him on Monday and asked him to cancel the said transfer as it was not approved by him. The DC said that he told Mr Khan that district collector and AC concerned were entitled to transfer/post the field staff of the Revenue Department and he had no role in this scenario.
The DC also refused to do postings/transfers on his recommendation after which MNA Zulfiqar threatened him with dire consequences.
The DC therefore requested the ECP to take necessary action against the MNA for repeated political interference in official matters.
