Court declares tractor dealer as proclaimed offender

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2018 ) ::A local court has declared an authorized dealer of Millat Tractors Limited as a proclaimed offender on the charge of embezzlement. The affectes had requested Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and administration of Millat Tractors to take immediate notice of highhandedness of alleged accused and demanded to take him to task in addition to cancellation of his dealership.

Fawad Akhtar, an affectee, lodged an FIR with Kotwali police and contended that Sheraz Anjum proprietor Yusuf & Company was an authorized dealer of Millat Tractors for Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh.

The complainant booked five tractors on July 18, 2016 and payment was also made to the dealer. He said that Sheraz Anjum allegedly sold out the tractors and provided complainant five cheques which were later dishonored.

The police had registered a case and challan was submitted in the court. Despite of repeated summons, the alleged accused failed to appear before the court. Hence the court declared him as a proclaimed offender and issued his perpetual warrants.

Another affectee, Jamshed Akhtar, had also lodged a separate case with the Civil Lines police.

He said that he booked two tractors through Sheraz Anjum. He paid the amount but later it was revealed that the accused had misappropriated the amount instead of providing him tractors.

On the demand of the complainant, the accused provided him cheques of the same amount which were also dishonored. He said that Sheraz Anjum had allegedly misappropriated Rs 50 million on the pretext of providing 75 tractors to the farmers of Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh.

The cases under sections 489-F and 406 of PPC had been registered by police stations Sargodha Road, Peoples Colony, Kotwali Road, Gulberg and Nawan Lahore against the accused. The affectees had alleged that Sheraz Anjum had inflicted colossal loss to the rural economy by depriving poor farmers of their hard earned savings.

They demanded the Punjab Chief Minister to take notice of this loot and plunder. They also demanded the administration of the Millat Tractors to cancel the dealership of alleged accused in addition to compensate the financial losses of the affectees. APP/msb/ia/gmf/asm
