DCO Directs Strict Action Against Kidney Sale In Tehsil Kotmomin

SARGODHA, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : District Coordination Officer Danish Afzal has directed the officials concerned to take action against the people involved in illegal sale of human organs in tehsil Kot Momin.
Chairing a meeting here on Tuesday, the DCO said that illegal sale of human organs, especially sale of kidney had become a business in the tehsil and there was a dire need of action against the people involved in the heinous crime.
The DCO has constituted a six-member committee under the chairmanship of Executive District Officer (EDO) Health which will submit its report to him after visiting the area on November 10. The meeting was told that people belonging to the said area were selling human organs due to their poor economic condition and in that regard, a total of three cases of illegal sale of kidney came to surface.
The meeting was further informed that middle men were playing with the lives of poor people and minting huge money after rewarding paltry amount to the donors while according to law, the sale of human organs had been prohibited and also declared illegal in 2010.
It was decided in the meeting that a comprehensive campaign would be launched in the tehsil for creating awareness among people and strict action would be taken against middle men involved in the menace.
