ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2021 ) :The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has finalised the arrangements for holding annual Mehfil-e-Shabeena, or midnight prayers at Faisal mosque.
The Mehfil-e-Shabeena or Qiyam-ul-Lail is observed as an official function throughout the country during the last five nights of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak from night of Ramazan 25th to 29th.
A spokesman of the ministry said in a statement that some 14 Qura (someone who recites the Quran from memory with the proper rules of recitation) had already been selected for recitation of 30 Paras of the holy Quran in the five nights.
Mehfil-e-Shabina would begin after Isha prayers. The Huffaz would recite seven Paras of the Holy Quran daily from 25th to 28th night of Ramazan and two Paras on 29th night of Ramazan during Traveeh prayers.
Stringent compliance with 'SMS' (social distancing, mask use and sanitising) were being ensured to tackle the possible spread of COVID-19 during the Qiyam-ul-Lail.The faithful have been asked to bring their own prayer mats, water bottle, perform ablution at home.
The Qiyam-ul-Lail (Mehfil-e-Shabeena) was being organised in collaboration with Dawah Academy academy of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).
