Flag Hoisting Ceremonies, Rallies, Seminars Main Features Of Independence Day Celebrations In Malakand Division

Like other parts of the country, the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan was also celebrated with great national fervor in all six districts of Malakand Division amid national flag hoisting ceremonies, walks, rallies and seminars by people and organizations to highlight importance of the day.

TIMERGARA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Aug, 2018 ) :Like other parts of the country, the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan was also celebrated with great national fervor in all six districts of Malakand Division amid national flag hoisting ceremonies, walks, rallies and seminars by people and organizations to highlight importance of the day.

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Different functions were arranged by district administrations, civil society organisations and schools and colleges in connection with the day.

The major function of national flag hoisting ceremony was held at Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office where DC Sarmad Saleem Akram hoisted Pakistani flag.

All Assistant Commissioners, head of line departments, district sports officer, political representatives, teachers, lawyers, media personnel besides elders attended the function.

A smartly turned out contingent of Dir Levy presented solute to the national flag.

The Deputy Commissioner said that Pakistan was created after a lot of sacrifices and the best way to celebrate the day to remember all those persons who laid down their lives during Pakistan Movement and later after creation of Pakistan for protection of their motherland.

Pakistan can achieved new heights of progress and development by strictly adhering to the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam's unity, faith and discipline, he said.

The DC urged people to plant maximum saplings during monsoon afforstratin campaigns to make the country lush green.

The district administration with the collaboration of Sports Department also arranged Independence Tournament in Dir Lower where players participated in different games and prizes were distributed. National songs, tableau, poems and PTI shows were also performed.

Flag hoisting ceremonies was also held at Wadodia Hall Mingora Swat, DC Offices at Chitral, Dir Upper, Malakand, Shangla and Buner districts where national-flag was hoisted followed by national anthem and songs.

Cakes were also cut besides distribution of sweets and gifts among poor segment of the society and children.

All the government buildings have artistically been decorated with national flags in these districts made festive look during night.

Cars, markets and vehicles were decorated with green and white clours by people expressing their deep love for their motherland.

Fireworks were also held last night enjoyed by people.
