Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has approved a project worth Rs 300 million to install advanced online system in its offices.
The system would be helpful in ensuring round-the-clock online regular monitoring of the monthly billing to all consumers, recovery, complaints, line losses, fluctuation in electricity supply and corruption by GEPCO employees.
According to GEPCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zahid Saleem, the company would update complete data of GEPCO's all 3.3 million consumers, 875 feeders, thousands of electrical transformers and electric meters in the region. The work over the project would begin in January 2019.
