
IHC Seeks NAB, Interior Ministry's Comments Regarding Younus Kidwai's Name On ECL

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday issued notices to the Interior Ministry and NAB on a petition seeking removal of the name of Younis Kidwai, an accused in the fake bank accounts case from the ECL and cancellation of the red warrant
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2025) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday issued notices to the Interior Ministry and NAB on a petition seeking removal of the name of Younis Kidwai, an accused in the fake bank accounts case from the ECL and cancellation of the red warrant.
IHC’s Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar heard the petition filed by Younis Kidwai. Arshad Tabrez Advocate appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner.
During the hearing, NAB Prosecutor Rafay Maqsood expressed ignorance about the issuance of the red warrant for the petitioner.
Interior Ministry officials said that the petitioner’s warrants were issued on the request of NAB. The court asked the Interior Ministry and NAB to submit a response as to why the name is on the ECL and why the warrants were issued.
The Interior Ministry and NAB sought time to submit their responses. The court directed the parties to submit their responses and adjourned the hearing till August 19.
