MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2019 ) :Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan Wednesday said India's objection on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor was of a political nature.
The real pain for India was that Pakistan would become a hub of world trade and economic activities after the completion of the CPEC project and would be connected with many continents through Gawadar Port, he said while delivering a lecture on CPEC to officers and executives of State Bank of Pakistan here.
CPEC would help highlight the Kashmir dispute at international forums besides socio-economic uplift of the people in the region as India had accepted Kashmir as disputed territory by raising objection against the project, he added.
He said CPEC was a big economic project and its benefits could be obtained only through better working of all the economic sectors.
He said the AJK had been given four mega projects under CPEC including two energy projects, an industrial zone in Mirpur and a road from Mansehra- Muzaffarabad to Mirpur.
He was making efforts to include more projects of agriculture and tourism sectors including a project of tourism corridor that could change the socio-economic state of the region, he added.
Meanwhile, talking to a delegation of local traders and civil society activists, the AJK president assured the people to resolve all issues related to commissioning of Neelum-Jhelum power project (NJHP) and proposed Kohala power project with the coordination of Federal government.
The delegation headed by Sardar Razaq Khan Mughal was consisted of Mir Imtiaz Ahmad, Basharat Khan Mughal, Ashfaq Khan Tareen, Khawaja Farooq Qaderi, Samia Sajid, Tanveer Quraishi, Altaf Mughal, Malik Waheed Arif Lone, Shafeeq Quraishi and Pervaiz Iqbal Zargar appraised the President about their reservations.
