Lahore High Court Multan Bench Bars Election Commission Of Pakistan From Issuing Final Result Of NA-158

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Multan Bench ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) not to issue final notification of victory of candidates in NA-158 as Pakistan People's Party (PPP) candidate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani had submitted a writ petition seeking a vote recount.
MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2018 ) :The Lahore High Court (LHC) Multan Bench ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) not to issue final notification of victory of candidates in NA-158 as Pakistan People's Party (PPP) candidate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani had submitted a writ petition seeking a vote recount.
According to details, the petitioner stated that there was difference of five per cent cast votes.
The petitioner stated that he had contacted the ECP and sought the vote recount. He added that the Returning Officer was reluctant to recount votes.
The LHC Multan Bench directed the ECP that the final result should not be notified till the next date of hearing on Aug 2.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ibrahim Khan had won from NA-158, according to unofficial results. He secured83,304 votes while Yusuf Raza Gilani got 74,443 votes.
