LESCO And IESCO Asked To Ensure Transparency In 488 Million Dollar AMI Project

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2019 ) :Secretary Power Division Irfan Ali Wednesday chaired a review meeting on progress of 488 million Dollars of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project in Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) and Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The meeting was apprised that the project in both DISCOs was in advance stage and bidding evaluation process was under way while bids were ready to be floated, said a press release.
The meeting was further briefed that the estimated cost of the AMI project in LESCO is around 300 million dollars while that of IESCO is around 188 million dollars with 80 percent ADB and 20 percent its own source of funding module.
The Secretary Power Division while expressing satisfaction over the process emphasized ensuring transparency during all stages of the project execution. He further directed that the AMI meters should be user friendly for consumers in both the DISCOs.
The meeting was attended by high officials of Power Division, PEPCO, CEO IESCO, ADB and LESCO teams working on the project.
