Minister Chairs 138th Meeting Of PESSI Governing Body

Punjab Minister for Labour & Human Resources and chairman, governing body of the Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI), Ansar Majeed Khan presided over the 138th meeting of the governing body here on Saturday.

Secretary Labour Sara Aslam, Commissioner PESSI Saqib Manan, Vice Commissioner Humaira Ikram, Medical Advisor Dr Nasir Jamal Pasha, members governing body Aima Mehmood, Abdul Majid Chaudhry, Waqar Ahmad, Hameed Khan Jadoon, Shehzad Anwar and others attended the meeting.
The governing body gave confirmation of the decisions, taken at the 137th meeting. Dr Nasir Jamal Pasha briefed the meeting regarding agenda items of the meeting. Approval was awarded to the recommendations of the governing body members for up-gradation of service structure of 114 nurses of the Social Security Hospitals (SSHs) to grade 17.
During the meeting, it was decided to get consultation and technical support from the Punjab Information and Technology Board (PIITB) to launch and ensure Social Security Management System of the institution.
The board approved increasing charges of anesthetists of SSHs from Rs 2500 to Rs 5000 along with employing two technicians of Mammography machines for the SSH of Multan Road Lahore and Islamabad. The fixed remuneration of temporary dental surgeons of SSHs will be enhanced whereas service regulation structure of specialist doctors of PESSI hospitals will be followed according to Provincial Health Department, approved the meeting.
As many as 20 new posts of post-graduation will also be created in Rehmat-ul-Lil'Alameen Institute of Cardiology Lahore. The governing body further approved to enhance the TA/DA rates of the employees of PESSI in accordance with the present ratio of Punjab government rules.
Minister Ansar Majeed Khan said that the only solution to problems of the labour community was to take concrete steps so that each and every labourer could enjoy the benefits of social security and medical cover by Smart Cards, speedy resolution of the issues of compensation, marriage, death, education and other related grants.
