Pak-China Universities Join Hand To Promote Agri Tourism

MULTAN, Oct 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Oct, 2018 ) :Universities from Pakistan and China decided to promote agriculture tourism with an objective to explore economic opportunities and improve people to people contacts between the two friendly countries.
Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan (MNS-UAM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with International Institute of Business and Economics (Qinhuangdao Hebei-China) in this regard.
Talking to APP, dean Agriculture and Environment department of the university Dr Shafqat Saeed said that it would be an excellent opportunity for people of the two countries to share experience and learn from each other's lifestyle.
He said agricultural tourism was a worldwide trend, which offered city dwellers a chance to escape urban concrete and re-discover their rural roots.
Agricultural tourism was a relatively new market for tourists and entrepreneurs as interaction of individuals with farm life also carries an educational aspect along with business opportunities, he added.
He remarked the agri-tourism also includes a set of economic and social activities that occur and link travel with the products, services, and experiences of agriculture fields.
He said agricultural tourism has seen a boost in popularity within recent years at international level.
Dr Shafqat Saeed informed that Pakistan especially South Punjab had many agricultural recreation sites and harvest festivals.
He informed that University of Agriculture would facilitate the visitors in making complete visit plans, business plans and provide guides so that the tourists could have maximum awareness of our agricultural recreations and business opportunities.
Similarly, China also holds summer camps. Pakistani farmers, entrepreneurs and others could visit China. The both universities would facilitate the citizens of the friendly countries, he concluded.
